New Chart of Benefits

AgeOptions recently updated our Chart of Benefits in response to new Medicaid program standards published on 4/9/2025. The AgeOptions Chart of Benefits is intended as a resource tool for professionals to use when screening clients for benefit programs. The chart lists income, assets, and a quick overview of eligibility requirements for various public programs in Illinois including Medicaid, Medicare Savings Programs, Extra Help, the Benefits Access Program, Supplemental Security Income (SSI), LIHEAP, SNAP (Food Stamps), Access to Care, Community Spousal Impoverishment and other programs.

Please note that the AgeOptions Chart of Benefits is designed for professionals and should not be distributed to consumers. The chart is meant as a quick reference tool (a "cheat sheet") and does not provide detailed explanations for consumers about how each program works.

The chart is available on our website.

Chart of Benefit Update Schedule

The Age Options Benefit Enrollment Center updates this chart three times a year in response to annual COLA income and asset changes that affect Medicaid, SNAP, Extra Help, and SSI. Extra Help and SSI amounts typically increase on or around January. Medicaid program income guidelines typically increase in April. SNAP program limitations typically increase in October.

Changes to other programs may happen at other times of the year and may not be reflected in this chart. We have hyperlinked all our sources and encourage you to use them to cross-reference the listed information and/or check for updates throughout the year. In the event you spot an error in an eligibility requirement, please email avisery@ageoptions.org to alert us of the error.
