Medicare Special Enrollment Period Available to Some CIGNA Plan Members
Endeavor Health providers and facilities in Illinois have stopped contracting with Cigna Medicare Advantage (MA) plans, resulting in a significant provider network change for plan beneficiaries associated with Endeavor Health. Endeavor Health serves multiple counties across Northeastern Illinois, including Cook, DuPage, Kane, Lake, McHenry and Will.
As a result of this change, the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) has approved a limited time special enrollment period (SEP) for Illinois beneficiaries who are enrolled in select Cigna MA plans and who are assigned to, are currently receiving care from, or have received care within the past three months from an Endeavor Health provider or facility being terminated from Cigna’s network. This SEP is available August 8, 2025 – October 31, 2025 and the impacted Cigna plans are identified by contract IDs H4513 and H7849.
Beneficiaries who were affected by the change were mailed notices on August 11, 2025 notifying them of the available SEP to change to an in-network MA plan or return to Original Medicare and enroll in a stand-alone Part D plan. The SEP is not available to those Cigna plan members who have no recent association with Endeavor Health.
